1975 850 Commando Mk. III.  Bought it from the Motorcycle and Model Railroad Museum in Oneida , Wisconsin .  It had been kept in a climate-controlled space, started every week, and ridden periodically.  And, it looks exceptional, as you can see in the picture.  This bike is original and correct cosmetically and mechanically.  It does have the traditional Norton Commando mods that are done to this bike, such as a Boyer electronic ignition and a Mikuni carb to replace the original twin Amals.  It has a new set of chrome free-flow pipes from RBK motors in the UK .  The 1975 model also came with an electric start, and this bike has the electrical/starter upgrades that are recommended, such as a 220 kit and 4 gauge wire, a rebuilt four-brush starter and a gel cell battery.  So, the electric start works great on this bike, which is not always the case for the stock system.

All identification numbers match (on the Commando, the numbers are stamped on the neck of the frame, the engine block, and what seems to be the rear swingarm frame).  The bike shows 320 miles on the speedometer after a light restoration in 2005 at the museum (including new starter, clutch, alternator, and top-end-I have all the records for this).  I am sure the bike has more original miles than this, it is 32 years old after all, but don't have any records of this.

Price is $8,500.  Let me know if you have any questions or would like more pictures.  Bike is in Orlando , FL   Call Jim at 407-701-8219 or ddriskell@bellsouth.net.
