1947/57 AJS 18S

The engine is a later 1957 18s motor. The cylinder barrel is an original replacement which is totally correct but has been bored out to .040” oversized and the piston is brand new from JP. The piston top crown is higher with an 8:1 compression ratio. The internal engine bearings have been replaced. Fuel is delivered utilizing a single Amal monobloc type 276C/1B.

The transmission is a 1947 Burman CP gearbox that the shifter lever is mounted on the right side of the engine. The transmission was totally rebuilt.

The charging system is a French manufactured Alton alternator that replaces the DC Lucas 6V generator. It produces 12 solid volts and runs on a Pertronix RR unit that doesn’t require a battery. The chassis is a positive earth.

Custom fabbed tail light and bracket, custom fabbed front fender.

The front and rear rims are matching SunRims that are finished in a matt black with stainless steel spokes with aluminum hubs with polished hub caps on the right front wheel. The tires are 190/80 X 19” Shinko for front and rear.

Everything has been gone through mechanically and is well sorted, $13,000
